Lauren and Austin’s Skamania Lodge wedding was the kind of day that reminds me why the Columbia River Gorge is such an incredible place to get married. Set in Stevenson, Washington, Skamania Lodge has some of the most beautiful mountain views in the Pacific Northwest, and their wedding day had that perfect mix of emotional, intentional, and fun.
From quiet first looks with family to private vows, a ceremony overlooking the Gorge, cocktail hour tattoos, and sunset couple photos, every part of their day felt personal to them. It was gorgeous, heartfelt, and full of moments that felt effortless in the best way.

Skamania Lodge is one of those wedding venues that feels like a full destination experience without being far from Portland. The property sits in the Columbia River Gorge in Stevenson, Washington, surrounded by mountain views, trees, open spaces, and that cozy Pacific Northwest lodge feeling.
For couples who want a wedding venue with a view, Skamania Lodge is such a strong choice. You get the beauty of the Gorge without needing to hike or travel far from the venue. Everything is right there, which makes the day feel easy for guests and gives you so many photo opportunities throughout the property.
It is also a great venue for couples who want their wedding to feel like a full weekend with their people. Guests can stay on site, enjoy the property, and really make the wedding feel like more than just one day. There are SO many activities at Skamania, too. Fun for the entire family!

Lauren and Austin’s wedding day started with some of the sweetest private family moments. Lauren shared a first look with her dad, which was emotional and so special to photograph. Austin also shared a first look with his mom. This was such a beautiful way to include their parents before the ceremony began.
After those family moments, Lauren and Austin had a first touch and private vow reading together. They chose not to fully see each other yet, but they still wanted that quiet time together before walking into the rest of the day. It was one of the most intimate parts of their wedding. They held hands, read their vows, and had a few minutes to just be present together before everything officially began.
Those are always some of my favorite moments on a wedding day. The schedule can move quickly, so carving out a private moment like this makes the day feel grounded. For Lauren and Austin, it was romantic, emotional, and so true to them.

Their ceremony took place with the mountains in the background, and it was absolutely stunning. Skamania Lodge has that kind of view that instantly makes a ceremony feel cinematic. The Gorge, the trees, the open sky, and the mountains created such a beautiful backdrop as Lauren and Austin exchanged vows in front of their favorite people.
After the ceremony, we took time for couple photos around the property. One of the best parts about a Skamania Lodge wedding is how many different backdrops you can get without leaving the venue. You can have mountain views, open fields, lodge textures, trees, and soft romantic light all within the same wedding day.
Lauren and Austin were so easy to photograph together. Their portraits felt romantic and natural, with the Gorge behind them and so much joy from the ceremony still settling in.

One of the most unique parts of Lauren and Austin’s wedding was their cocktail hour. They had a tattoo artist, Sky Rocket Tattoos, there for guests, which was such a fun and personal detail. It made the experience feel interactive and memorable, and it gave their guests something completely different to enjoy during the celebration.
The tattoo artist continued into the reception too, which kept that fun energy going throughout the night. It was such a cool way to make the wedding feel like them instead of following every expected tradition. They were able to choose the flash that was available for guests to get throughout the evening.

Later in the evening, we snuck away for a few sunset couple photos, and it was absolutely worth it. Sunset portraits are always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day, especially at a venue like Skamania Lodge where the light and the views can completely transform within just a few minutes.
This little break gave Lauren and Austin a chance to step away from the reception, breathe for a moment, and soak in the fact that they were officially married. The light over the Gorge was soft and beautiful, and those portraits brought such a romantic ending to their wedding gallery.

A Skamania Lodge wedding is perfect for couples who want mountain views, a destination feel, and a venue that gives guests the full Pacific Northwest experience. It has that rare mix of natural beauty and convenience, which makes the day feel relaxed while still being visually stunning.
Lauren and Austin’s wedding was the perfect example of how beautiful this venue can be when the day is centered around meaningful moments. From their emotional family first looks to their private vows, their mountain view ceremony, their tattoo artist, and their sunset portraits, every part of the day felt intentional and personal.
