Let me preface this by saying Kylee is one of my best friends. We took a trip to Colorado together and on a whim decided portraits in the snow would be super fun, even with the extreme temperatures. We both absolutely love taking photos together because I have full creative freedom and she loves the fun of the photoshoot itself and the photos she gets from them. Its a win-win!

This session with Kylee was wild—in the best way. We were out on some flat farmland somewhere in Colorado. Picture open plains for miles, not a hill in sight. It was about 12°F with brutal wind chill, and we were shooting in 3-minute bursts so Kylee wouldn’t literally freeze. I’m not joking—frostbite was on the table.

We found a random backroad lined with farmland, hay bales, and even an old tractor, which obviously became part of the shoot. Later, we stumbled on an abandoned house just off the road and used its textured, weathered exterior for a few edgier shots. The whole thing felt like a blend of Americana and editorial grit.

The session was quick, cold, and super intentional. Every pose had to count. Kylee nailed it—even with frozen hands and wind in her face. It ended up being one of my favorite shoots from that trip.
